Injecting your turkey will produce a more flavorful and moist meat. Not all the spices and seasonings that may be injected into a turkey are gluten-free though, so beware! This gluten-free turkey injection was super delicious and easy to make. Turkey injections work with all preparation techniques whether it be deep fried, roasted or grilled.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup gluten-free chicken broth
- 1/4 cup garlic oil (or 1/4 cup avocado oil with 1/4 tsp garlic powder)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary (or 1/3 tsp dried)
- 1 sprig fresh thyme (or 1/4 tsp dried)
- 1 fresh sage leaf (or 1/8 tsp dried)
- 1 bay leaf
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients in a pot and simmer for five minutes.
- Let the sauce cool then strain or remove leaves/whole herbs.
- Using an injection needle, inject sauce into the turkey throughout all the breast and thighs. 3 injections per breast and 2 injections per thigh. Tip: To avoid making multiple holes all over the turkey, make one hole and inject 1/3 of the liquid, rotate the needle 1/3 turn for the 2nd breast injection then repeat for the 3rd.
- Proceed to grill, fry, or roast your turkey.
We hope you enjoy this gluten-free turkey injection sauce as much as we did!! It was so delicious and the turkey was super moist!!!
