Red Robin is very good about not cross contaminating your food. They have a gluten free menu but sometimes you need to remind them about specifics, especially if you are Celiac. Main things you need to worry about, besides the obvious, are their fries, burgers and milkshakes. Here’s how to order them and be sure they are gluten free.
Fries
They have a separate fryer for their fries, you just have to ask them to “hold the sprinkles” because their homemade salt seasoning they put on the fries is not gluten free. Make sure to remind them they need to be fired in the separate fryer.
Burgers
They can make most of their burgers gluten free by either substituting a yummy (but big) gluten free bun which is what my boys usually get. My favorite is to order the burger “protein style” which is where they substitute a large hunk of lettuce for the bun. It is super crispy and moist…but very messy so be sure to ask for extra napkins. My husband and many of my friends who have gone there with me now order it that way because it’s so good!
Milkshakes
If you order a milkshake and they tell you it’s not gluten free, it’s because the sprinkles they put on top are not gluten free. Just ask them to hold the sprinkles and you’re good to go!
